    Staff Resources

Sacred Heart moving with the times and embracing the benefits of cloud based resources.

The school utilizes the power of networking via Edge cloud. & Office 365. Benefits of sharing staff resources will be enhanced again this year.

  • Learning

    Learning

We are currently further developing our systems to provide excellent support to students identified as gifted and/or talented.

All classes and students at our school have their own areas within Ultranet. The amount of detail about their learning that you can see depends on your user log in. If you are a member of the public without log in rights, what you can see is only the tip of the iceberg!

  • Whanau Resources

    Whanau Resources

Starting school is a big step for both a child and their family.

At Sacred Heart, we try to create an environment where your child is known and valued for who they are.

To help you become familiar with school our Junior school team have created the following resource.

  • Our People

    Our People

The Board has created a series of policies and procedures to ensure the safe and smooth running of the school. These are attached to this page as a resource for our community.

The Sacred Heart Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance of our school. Its members are either elected by our parent community for three years, or appointed by our Proprietor - Bishop Barry Jones of the Diocese of Christchurch.

    Catholic Character

In a Catholic school the school operates in a way known as the Catholic character. This is not something simply “added on” to what would otherwise be an ordinary State school. Nor does it merely refer to Religious Education, ceremonies and observances. The Catholic Character actually provides the framework within which the whole school curriculum is delivered; it is, in fact, integral to everything that takes place in the school, or on behalf of the school, and its community. Properly observed and practised, it also provides a climate of hope, inspiration and service for all members of the school community.

All staff in a Catholic school are expected to model these values in their behaviour and to teach and proclaim them to their students.

  • Student Appearance Policy

    Student Appearance Policy

We believe that students who present themselves tidily and attractively create a good impression on our school community and help promote the high standards we encourage.

    • To ensure the safety of students (e.g tearing ears or catching hair in equipment).
    • To encourage care and respect for themselves and each other.
    • To reduce any tendency for students to be pressured to follow fashion trends at school.
