The Board of Trustees

Elected & appointed governance board
Experienced board of trustees plot school’s direction

Ten member Board of Trustees add experienced guidance

The Sacred Heart Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance of our school.

Its members are either elected by our parent community for three years, or appointed by our Proprietor, Bishop Paul Martin of the Diocese of Christchurch.

The Board creates policies and procedures to ensure the safe and smooth running of the school. The Board also develops and maintains an Annual Plan and a Strategic Plan to give direction to where the school is going over the coming year and into the future.

These plans are created after consultation with our whole school community and are reviewed regularly.

If you would like more information about our Board, please email our chairperson Richard Quested at bot@sacredhearttim.school.nz

Transparency & accountability reassuring for parents

My wife went to Sacred Heart when she was a child, and has some warm and wonderful memories of the school. For me I have been delighted to find such an open environment for interaction between the parents and the teachers, senior staff, and the board. This has instilled a lot of faith through transparency and accessibility.

Of course it’s fantastic and fascinating to watch them achieve the milestones around the curriculum - who doesn’t get a buzz out of seeing those jumps in reading, writing, and  being to analyse the works around them. But the surprise for me was that a good amount of time is also spent on allowing their characters to grow whilst offering them positive guidance. I love this well rounded approach.
